DetailsView::OnItemUpdating Method (DetailsViewUpdateEventArgs^)

Raises the ItemUpdating event.

Namespace:   System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly:  System.Web (in System.Web.dll)

protected:
virtual void OnItemUpdating(
	DetailsViewUpdateEventArgs^ e
)

Exception Condition
HttpException

There is no handler for the ItemUpdating event.

The OnItemUpdating method is called by the DetailsView control to raise the ItemUpdating event. It is generally used by control developers when extending the DetailsView class.

The OnItemUpdating method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors:

When overriding OnItemUpdating in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnItemUpdating method so that registered delegates receive the event.
