MessageBodyMemberAttribute Class

Specifies that a member is serialized as an element inside the SOAP body.

Namespace:   System.ServiceModel
Assembly:  System.ServiceModel (in System.ServiceModel.dll)

System.Object
  System.Attribute
    System.ServiceModel.MessageContractMemberAttribute
      System.ServiceModel.MessageBodyMemberAttribute

<AttributeUsageAttribute(AttributeTargets.Property Or AttributeTargets.Field,
	Inherited := False)>
Public Class MessageBodyMemberAttribute
	Inherits MessageContractMemberAttribute

NameDescription
System_CAPS_pubmethodMessageBodyMemberAttribute()

Initializes a new instance of the MessageBodyMemberAttribute class.

NameDescription
System_CAPS_pubpropertyHasProtectionLevel

When overridden in a derived class, gets a value that indicates whether the member has a protection level assigned. (Inherited from MessageContractMemberAttribute.)

System_CAPS_pubpropertyName

Specifies the name of the element that corresponds to this member. (Inherited from MessageContractMemberAttribute.)

System_CAPS_pubpropertyNamespace

Specifies the namespace of the element that corresponds to this member. (Inherited from MessageContractMemberAttribute.)

System_CAPS_pubpropertyOrder

Gets or sets a value that indicates the position in which the member is serialized into the SOAP body.

System_CAPS_pubpropertyProtectionLevel

Specifies whether the member is to be transmitted as-is, signed, or signed and encrypted. (Inherited from MessageContractMemberAttribute.)

System_CAPS_pubpropertyTypeId

When implemented in a derived class, gets a unique identifier for this Attribute.(Inherited from Attribute.)

NameDescription
System_CAPS_pubmethodEquals(Object)

This API supports the product infrastructure and is not intended to be used directly from your code. Returns a value that indicates whether this instance is equal to a specified object.(Inherited from Attribute.)

System_CAPS_protmethodFinalize()

Allows an object to try to free resources and perform other cleanup operations before it is reclaimed by garbage collection.(Inherited from Object.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodGetHashCode()

Returns the hash code for this instance.(Inherited from Attribute.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodGetType()

Gets the Type of the current instance.(Inherited from Object.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodIsDefaultAttribute()

When overridden in a derived class, indicates whether the value of this instance is the default value for the derived class.(Inherited from Attribute.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodMatch(Object)

When overridden in a derived class, returns a value that indicates whether this instance equals a specified object.(Inherited from Attribute.)

System_CAPS_protmethodMemberwiseClone()

Creates a shallow copy of the current Object.(Inherited from Object.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodToString()

Returns a string that represents the current object.(Inherited from Object.)

NameDescription
System_CAPS_pubinterfaceSystem_CAPS_privmethod_Attribute.GetIDsOfNames(Guid, IntPtr, UInt32, UInt32, IntPtr)

Maps a set of names to a corresponding set of dispatch identifiers.(Inherited from Attribute.)

System_CAPS_pubinterfaceSystem_CAPS_privmethod_Attribute.GetTypeInfo(UInt32, UInt32, IntPtr)

Retrieves the type information for an object, which can be used to get the type information for an interface.(Inherited from Attribute.)

System_CAPS_pubinterfaceSystem_CAPS_privmethod_Attribute.GetTypeInfoCount(UInt32)

Retrieves the number of type information interfaces that an object provides (either 0 or 1).(Inherited from Attribute.)

System_CAPS_pubinterfaceSystem_CAPS_privmethod_Attribute.Invoke(UInt32, Guid, UInt32, Int16, IntPtr, IntPtr, IntPtr, IntPtr)

Provides access to properties and methods exposed by an object.(Inherited from Attribute.)

Use the MessageBodyMemberAttribute attribute to specify that a data member is serialized into the SOAP body and to control some serialization items.

The Order property is used to specify the order of body parts in cases where the default alphabetical order is not appropriate.

The other properties are inherited from the base class, System.ServiceModel.MessageContractMemberAttribute.

For more information about controlling the serialization of the contents of a SOAP body without modifying the default SOAP envelope itself, see System.Runtime.Serialization.DataContractAttribute, Specifying Data Transfer in Service Contracts, and Using Data Contracts.

For more information, seeUsing Message Contracts.

The following code example shows the use of the MessageContractAttribute to control the SOAP envelope structure for both the request message and the response message, and the use of both the MessageHeaderAttribute (to create a SOAP header for the response message) and the MessageBodyMemberAttribute (to specify the bodies of both the request and response message). The code example contains an example of each message when sent.
