WindowsIdentity::IsAnonymous Property

Gets a value that indicates whether the user account is identified as an anonymous account by the system.

Namespace:   System.Security.Principal
Assembly:  mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)

public:
property bool IsAnonymous {
	virtual bool get();
}

Property Value

Type: System::Boolean

true if the user account is an anonymous account; otherwise, false.

The IsAnonymous property detects both the Windows anonymous identity and the anonymous identity that is returned by the GetAnonymous method.

Anonymous accounts are typically only encountered only from within ASP.NET-based applications when anonymous access is allowed by Internet Information Services (IIS).

The following code shows the use of the IsAnonymous property to detect whether the user account is identified as an anonymous account by the system. This code example is part of a larger example provided for the WindowsIdentity class.

if (  !windowsIdentity->IsAnonymous )
{
   propertyDescription = String::Concat( propertyDescription, ", is not an Anonymous account" );
}
