DataContractSerializer::IgnoreExtensionDataObject Property

Gets a value that specifies whether to ignore data supplied by an extension of the class when the class is being serialized or deserialized.

Namespace:   System.Runtime.Serialization
Assembly:  System.Runtime.Serialization (in System.Runtime.Serialization.dll)

public:
property bool IgnoreExtensionDataObject {
	bool get();
}

Property Value

Type: System::Boolean

true to omit the extension data; otherwise, false.

The IgnoreExtensionDataObject property is used when the class to which a DataContractAttribute has been applied also implements the IExtensibleDataObject interface. In this case, the data added in a future version of the contract is ignored on read and write. For more information, seeForward-Compatible Data Contracts.
