DirectoryAttribute::Item Property (Int32)

The Item property gets or sets the DirectoryAttribute object at the specified index.

Namespace:   System.DirectoryServices.Protocols
Assembly:  System.DirectoryServices.Protocols (in System.DirectoryServices.Protocols.dll)

public:
property Object^ default[
	int index
] {
	Object^ get(int index);
	void set(int index, Object^ value);
}

Parameters

index
Type: System::Int32

The zero-based index value at which the DirectoryAttribute object is found.

Property Value

Type: System::Object^

The DirectoryAttribute object at the specified index.

Exception Condition
ArgumentException

value to set is an invalid type. The valid types are byte[], string, or URI.

ArgumentNullException

value contains a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).

The Get method of Item always attempts to convert and return the value object as a string; otherwise it returns a byte array. To get a better performance, use the M:System.DirectoryServices.Protocols.DirectoryAttribute.GetValues method if you know the return type of the attribute value.
