OleDbParameter::Direction Property

Gets or sets a value that indicates whether the parameter is input-only, output-only, bidirectional, or a stored procedure return-value parameter.

Namespace:   System.Data.OleDb
Assembly:  System.Data (in System.Data.dll)

public:
property ParameterDirection Direction {
	virtual ParameterDirection get() override;
	virtual void set(ParameterDirection value) override;
}

Property Value

Type: System.Data::ParameterDirection

One of the ParameterDirection values. The default is Input.

Exception Condition
ArgumentException

The property was not set to one of the valid ParameterDirection values.

If the ParameterDirection is output, and execution of the associated OleDbCommand does not return a value, the OleDbParameter contains a null value.

Output, InputOut, and ReturnValue parameters returned by calling ExecuteReader cannot be accessed until you call Close or Dispose on the OleDbDataReader.

The following example creates an OleDbParameter and sets some of its properties.
