Marshal.PtrToStringAnsi Method (IntPtr, Int32)

For apps that target Windows Phone OS 7.0 and 7.1, do not use any members of this type in your app. If you do, your code will throw a MethodAccessException. This type is security-critical, which restricts it to internal use by the .NET Framework for Windows Phone class library.

Allocates a managed String, copies a specified number of characters from an unmanaged ANSI string into it, and widens each ANSI character to Unicode.

Parameters

ptr
Type: System.IntPtr
The address of the first character of the unmanaged string.
len
Type: System.Int32
The byte count of the input string to copy.

Return Value

Type: System.String
A managed String that holds a copy of the native ANSI string if the value of the ptr parameter is not null; otherwise, this method returns null.
