BindingList<T>::OnAddingNew Method (AddingNewEventArgs^)

Raises the AddingNew event.

Namespace:   System.ComponentModel
Assembly:  System (in System.dll)

protected:
virtual void OnAddingNew(
	AddingNewEventArgs^ e
)

Parameters

e
Type: System.ComponentModel::AddingNewEventArgs^

An AddingNewEventArgs that contains the event data.

The AddingNew event and the AddNew method allow custom-created items to be added to the list.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see NIB: Raising an Event.

The OnAddingNew method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors:

When overriding OnAddingNew in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnAddingNew method so that registered delegates receive the event.
