Equals Method

Tuple(Of T1, T2, T3).Equals Method

[ This article is for Windows Phone 8 developers. If you’re developing for Windows 10, see the latest documentation. ]

Returns a value that indicates whether the current Tuple(Of T1, T2, T3) object is equal to a specified object.

Namespace:  System
Assembly:  mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)

'Declaration
Public Overrides Function Equals ( _
	obj As Object _
) As Boolean

Parameters

obj
Type: System.Object
The object to compare with this instance.

Return Value

Type: System.Boolean
true if the current instance is equal to the specified object; otherwise, false.

The obj parameter is considered to be equal to the current instance under the following conditions:

  • It is a Tuple(Of T1, T2, T3) object.

  • Its three components are of the same types as the current instance.

  • Its three components have the same values as those of the current instance.

The following example calls the Tuple(Of T1, T2, T3).Equals(Object) method to determine whether any of the objects in an array of Tuple(Of T1, T2, T3) objects are equal to one another. The output reflects the fact that the Equals(Object) method returns true when comparing Tuple(Of T1, T2, T3) objects whose components have equal values.
