TypeConverter.ConvertTo Method (ITypeDescriptorContext, CultureInfo, Object, Type)

Converts the specified value object to the specified type.

Parameters

context
Type: System.ComponentModel.ITypeDescriptorContext
An object that provides a format context.
culture
Type: System.Globalization.CultureInfo
The CultureInfo to use as the current culture.
value
Type: System.Object
The object to convert.
destinationType
Type: System.Type
The type to convert the object to.

Return Value

Type: System.Object
The converted object.

NotImplementedException

ConvertTo not implemented in base TypeConverter.

Notes to Inheritors

For use as a type converter for custom-type attribute handling in Silverlight XAML, you do not need to implement this method (it is not called by the Silverlight XAML parser for type conversion purposes). However , you might still want to implement a practical behavior for ConvertTo as a best practice.
