GCHandle.Alloc Method (Object, GCHandleType)

For apps that target Windows Phone OS 7.0 and 7.1, do not use this member in your app. If you do, your code will throw a MethodAccessException. This member is security-critical, which restricts it to internal use by the .NET Framework for Windows Phone class library.

Allocates a handle of the specified type for the specified object.

Parameters

value
Type: System.Object
The object that uses the GCHandle.
type
Type: System.Runtime.InteropServices.GCHandleType
One of the GCHandleType values, indicating the type of GCHandle to create.

Return Value

Type: System.Runtime.InteropServices.GCHandle
A new GCHandle of the specified type. This GCHandle must be released with Free when it is no longer needed.
