Initializes a new instance of the IPAddress class with the address specified as a Byte array.

Parameters

  • address
    Type: array<System.Byte[]
    The byte array that contains the IP address.

Exceptions

Exception Condition
ArgumentException

The length of the address parameter is not 4 bytes required for an IPv4 address or 16 bytes required for an IPv6 address.

ArgumentNullException

The address parameter is nulla null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).

Remarks

The IPAddress is created with IP address set to address.

If the length of address is 4, IPAddress(array<Byte[]) constructs an IPv4 address; otherwise, an IPv6 address with a scope of 0 is constructed.

The Byte array is assumed to be in network byte order with the most significant byte first in index position 0.
