WindowsServiceCredential Class

Provides properties that describe the service credentials used for Windows authentication.

Namespace:  System.ServiceModel.Security
Assembly:  System.ServiceModel (in System.ServiceModel.dll)

public sealed class WindowsServiceCredential

The WindowsServiceCredential type exposes the following members.

Public propertyAllowAnonymousLogonsGets or sets a value that indicates whether to allowanonymous users access (applies only to message-level security).
Public propertyIncludeWindowsGroupsGets or sets a value that indicates whether the Windows groups that a client belongs to are included in the security context.

Public methodEquals(Object)Determines whether the specified object is equal to the current object. (Inherited from Object.)
Public methodGetHashCodeServes as the default hash function. (Inherited from Object.)
Public methodGetTypeGets the Type of the current instance. (Inherited from Object.)
Public methodToStringReturns a string that represents the current object. (Inherited from Object.)

This class provides two settings.

You can use the AllowAnonymousLogons property to allow the anonymous logon of clients by setting it to true. You can then avoid disclosing the client's identity to the service by setting AllowedImpersonationLevel to Anonymous.

  • If the IncludeWindowsGroups property is set to true (the default setting), the service can determine the Windows groups to which the client belongs.
