Open Solutions and Projects from Version Control
In Team Foundation, solutions and projects are stored in the Team Foundation version control server and are affiliated with a specific team project. The following procedures describe how to open these solutions and projects by using either the menu of Visual Studio or Source Control Explorer, or by using links attached to work items.
After you open a solution or project in Team Foundation, you must check out the files that are associated with the solution before you modify them. For more information, see Getting a Local Copy of Files from the Version Control Server.
To perform these procedures, you must have the Read permission set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.
To open solutions and projects from the menu
On the File menu, click Source Control, and then click Open from Source Control.
The Open from Source Control dialog box appears.
In the Items of type drop-down list, select the types of items that you want.
The default is All Project Files.
Double-click the desired team project folder.
The Item name label underneath the listing of projects confirms your selection.
In the Workspace drop-down list, select the desired workspace.
