New features added when you update Team Foundation Server

By installing the latest version of Visual Studio Team Foundation Server (TFS), you can access new features.

To access the latest update, go to the Visual Studio downloads page.

Some features show up automatically, but others only show up after they’ve been enabled using the Configure Features wizard. The wizard automatically tries to configure all available features that haven’t yet been enabled.

When you run the Configure Features wizard, it assesses your existing team project, determines which features are missing, and adds them.

Features added with the update to TFS 2015 RC

To enable the XX portfolio backlog, the Configure Feature Wizard performs the following actions:

  • Adds the XX work item types (WIT)

  • Adds the XX Category

  • Updates the process configuration to add XX as a portfolio backlog

  • Updates the Feature WIT definition to provide a links control tab to show the parent-child links created between XX and Features.
