How to: Search for Work Items (Team System Web Access)

Visual Studio 2008

You can use Team System Web Access to search for work items based on a known work item ID number. You can also search for work items based on keywords or phrases that target the work item title or description that is contained in the work item details. When Team System Web Access finds a work item with an ID number that matches the one that you specified, it displays the work item details.

Required Permissions

To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Readers group or have the View work items in this node permission set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To search for a work item by ID number

  1. In Team System Web Access, in the Work Item# box, type the ID number of the work item for which you want to view details.

    NoteNote:

You can also use a query to search for a work item by ID number. For more information about how to use queries in Team System Web Access, see How to: Create, Share, and Run Work Item Queries (Team System Web Access)
