XmlWriter.Flush Method

When overridden in a derived class, flushes whatever is in the buffer to the underlying streams and also flushes the underlying stream.

Namespace:  System.Xml
Assembly:  System.Xml (in System.Xml.dll)

public abstract void Flush()

This is called instead of Close when you want to write more to the underlying stream without losing what is still in the buffer.

XmlWriterSettings settings = new XmlWriterSettings();
settings.OmitXmlDeclaration = true;
StringWriter sw = new StringWriter();

using (XmlWriter writer = XmlWriter.Create(sw, settings))
{
    writer.WriteStartElement("book");
    writer.WriteElementString("price", "19.95");
    writer.WriteEndElement();
    writer.Flush();
}

OutputTextBlock.Text = sw.ToString();
