XmlSerializationWriter.FromXmlName Method

This API supports the .NET Framework infrastructure and is not intended to be used directly from your code.

Encodes a valid XML name by replacing characters that are not valid with escape sequences.

Assembly:  System.Xml (in System.Xml.dll)

Parameters

name
Type: System.String
A string to be used as an XML name.

Return Value

Type: System.String
An encoded string.

The protected members of XmlSerializationWriter are intended for use only by derived classes that are used internally within the .NET Framework XML serialization infrastructure.

The FromXmlName method is static.

Supported in: 4, 3.5 SP1

Windows 7, Windows Vista SP1 or later, Windows XP SP3, Windows XP SP2 x64 Edition, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core supported with SP1 or later), Windows Server 2003 SP2
