CodeIdentifier Class

This API supports the .NET Framework infrastructure and is not intended to be used directly from your code.

Provides static methods to convert input text into names for code entities.

Namespace:  System.Xml.Serialization
Assembly:  System.Xml (in System.Xml.dll)

type CodeIdentifier = class end

The CodeIdentifier type exposes the following members.

Public methodCodeIdentifier Obsolete. Initializes a new instance of the CodeIdentifier class.

Public methodEquals(Object)Determines whether the specified Object is equal to the current Object. (Inherited from Object.)
Protected methodFinalizeAllows an object to try to free resources and perform other cleanup operations before it is reclaimed by garbage collection. (Inherited from Object.)
Public methodGetHashCodeServes as a hash function for a particular type. (Inherited from Object.)
Public methodGetTypeGets the Type of the current instance. (Inherited from Object.)
Public methodStatic memberMakeCamelProduces a camel-case string from an input string.
Public methodStatic memberMakePascalProduces a Pascal-case string from an input string.
Public methodStatic memberMakeValidProduces a valid code entity name from an input string.
Protected methodMemberwiseCloneCreates a shallow copy of the current Object. (Inherited from Object.)
Public methodToStringReturns a string that represents the current object. (Inherited from Object.)

The methods of the CodeIdentifier class are used by the XML serialization infrastructure while producing .NET Framework types from XML element and data type definitions. XML element or attribute names typically provide the methods' input text.

You do not need to call the methods of the CodeIdentifier class directly from your code. Instead, use the various tools and APIs provided by the .NET Framework for XML serialization, such as the XmlSerializer, or the XML Schema Definition Tool (Xsd.exe) tool.
