VisualStyleElement.Window.FrameLeft.Active Property

Gets a visual style element that represents the left border of an active window.

Namespace:   System.Windows.Forms.VisualStyles
Assembly:  System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)

public static VisualStyleElement Active { get; }

Property Value

Type: System.Windows.Forms.VisualStyles.VisualStyleElement

A VisualStyleElement that represents the left border of an active window.

You can use the VisualStyleElement returned by the Active property to create a VisualStyleRenderer.

The following code example demonstrates how to create a VisualStyleRenderer with the VisualStyleElement returned by the Active property. To run this example, paste it into a Windows Form. Handle the form’s Paint event and call the DrawVisualStyleElementWindowFrameLeft1 method from the Paint event-handling method, passing e as PaintEventArgs.

public void DrawVisualStyleElementWindowFrameLeft1(PaintEventArgs e)
{
    if (VisualStyleRenderer.IsElementDefined(
        VisualStyleElement.Window.FrameLeft.Active))
    {
        VisualStyleRenderer renderer =
             new VisualStyleRenderer(VisualStyleElement.Window.FrameLeft.Active);
        Rectangle rectangle1 = new Rectangle(10, 50, 50, 50);
        renderer.DrawBackground(e.Graphics, rectangle1);
        e.Graphics.DrawString("VisualStyleElement.Window.FrameLeft.Active",
             this.Font, Brushes.Black, new Point(10, 10));
    }
    else
        e.Graphics.DrawString("This element is not defined in the current visual style.",
             this.Font, Brushes.Black, new Point(10, 10));
}
