UpDownBase.OnTextBoxKeyPress Method

Raises the KeyPress event.

Namespace:  System.Windows.Forms
Assembly:  System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)

protected virtual void OnTextBoxKeyPress(
	Object source,
	KeyPressEventArgs e
)

Parameters

source
Type: System.Object
The source of the event.
e
Type: System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventArgs
A KeyPressEventArgs that contains the event data.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.

The OnTextBoxKeyPress method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnTextBoxKeyPress in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnTextBoxKeyPress method so that registered delegates receive the event.
