ToolStripItem.EnabledChanged Event

Occurs when the Enabled property value has changed.

Namespace: System.Windows.Forms
Assembly: System.Windows.Forms (in system.windows.forms.dll)

public event EventHandler EnabledChanged
/** @event */
public void add_EnabledChanged (EventHandler value)

/** @event */
public void remove_EnabledChanged (EventHandler value)

In JScript, you can handle the events defined by a class, but you cannot define your own.
Not applicable.

This event is raised if the Enabled property is changed by either a programmatic modification or user interaction.

NoteNote:

Changing the Enabled property of a ToolStrip does not raise the EnabledChanged event. Raise this event with specific property settings.

For more information about handling events, see Consuming Events.

The following code example demonstrates the use of this member. In the example, an event handler reports on the occurrence of the EnabledChanged event. This report helps you to learn when the event occurs and can assist you in debugging. To report on multiple events or on events that occur frequently, consider replacing System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox.Show with System.Console.WriteLine or appending the message to a multiline TextBox.

To run the example code, paste it into a project that contains an instance of a type that inherits from ToolStripItem, such as a ToolStripButton or ToolStripMenuItem. Then name the instance ToolStripItem1 and ensure that the event handler is associated with the EnabledChanged event.

private void ToolStripItem1_EnabledChanged(Object sender, EventArgs e) {

   MessageBox.Show("You are in the ToolStripItem.EnabledChanged event.");

}
