TabRenderer.IsSupported Property

Gets a value indicating whether the TabRenderer class can be used to draw a tab control with visual styles.

Namespace:  System.Windows.Forms
Assembly:  System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)

public static bool IsSupported { get; }

Property Value

Type: System.Boolean
true if the user has enabled visual styles in the operating system and visual styles are applied to the client area of application windows; otherwise, false.

If this property is false, the DrawTabPage and DrawTabItem methods will throw an InvalidOperationException.

The following code example uses the IsSupported property to determine whether to use the DrawTabPage and DrawTabItem methods. This code example is part of a larger example provided for the TabRenderer class.

// Draw the tab page and the tab items.
protected override void OnPaint(PaintEventArgs e)
{
    base.OnPaint(e);

    if (!TabRenderer.IsSupported)
    {
        this.Parent.Text = "CustomTabControl Disabled";
        return;
    }

    TabRenderer.DrawTabPage(e.Graphics, tabPageRectangle);
    TabRenderer.DrawTabItem(e.Graphics, tabItemRectangle1,
        tab1Text, this.Font, tab1Focused, tab1State);
    TabRenderer.DrawTabItem(e.Graphics, tabItemRectangle2,
        tab2Text, this.Font, tab2Focused, tab2State);

    this.Parent.Text = "CustomTabControl Enabled";
}
