ListView.ItemChecked Event

Occurs when the checked state of an item changes.

Namespace:  System.Windows.Forms
Assembly:  System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)

'Declaration
Public Event ItemChecked As ItemCheckedEventHandler
'Usage
Dim instance As ListView
Dim handler As ItemCheckedEventHandler

AddHandler instance.ItemChecked, handler

For more information about handling events, see Consuming Events.

The following code example demonstrates the use of this member. In the example, an event handler reports on the occurrence of the ItemChecked event. This report helps you to learn when the event occurs and can assist you in debugging. To report on multiple events or on events that occur frequently, consider replacing MessageBox.Show with Console.WriteLine or appending the message to a multiline TextBox.

For another example, see the ItemCheck event. The code there works equally well if the event handler is attached to the ItemChecked event.

To run this example code, paste it into a project that contains an instance of type ListView named ListView1. Then ensure that the event handler is associated with the ItemChecked event.

Private Sub ListView1_ItemChecked(sender as Object, e as ItemCheckedEventArgs) _
     Handles ListView1.ItemChecked

    Dim messageBoxVB as New System.Text.StringBuilder()
    messageBoxVB.AppendFormat("{0} = {1}", "Item", e.Item)
    messageBoxVB.AppendLine()
    MessageBox.Show(messageBoxVB.ToString(),"ItemChecked Event")

End Sub
