Form.OnShown Method

Note: This method is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Raises the Shown event.

Namespace: System.Windows.Forms
Assembly: System.Windows.Forms (in system.windows.forms.dll)

protected virtual void OnShown (
	EventArgs e
protected void OnShown (
	EventArgs e
protected function OnShown (
	e : EventArgs

A EventArgs that contains the event data.

The Shown event occurs whenever the form is first shown.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.

The OnShown method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors When overriding OnShown in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnShown method so that registered delegates receive the event.
