DataGridView.OnKeyDown Method
Raises the KeyDown event.
Assembly: System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)
Parameters
- e
- Type: System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs
A KeyEventArgs that contains the event data.
Exception | Condition |
---|---|
Exception | This action would cause the control to enter edit mode but initialization of the editing cell value failed and either there is no handler for the DataError event or the handler has set the DataGridViewDataErrorEventArgs.ThrowException property to true. The exception object can typically be cast to type FormatException. |
Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.
The OnKeyDown method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.
Notes to InheritorsWhen overriding OnKeyDown in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnKeyDown method so that registered delegates receive the event.
