ComboBox.OnSelectedItemChanged(EventArgs) Method

Definition

Raises the SelectedItemChanged event.

protected:
 virtual void OnSelectedItemChanged(EventArgs ^ e);
protected virtual void OnSelectedItemChanged (EventArgs e);
abstract member OnSelectedItemChanged : EventArgs -> unit
override this.OnSelectedItemChanged : EventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnSelectedItemChanged (e As EventArgs)

Parameters

e
EventArgs

An EventArgs that contains the event data.

Remarks

This event is raised when you select a new item from the list or when you set the SelectedIndex property.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnSelectedItemChanged method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnSelectedItemChanged(EventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnSelectedItemChanged(EventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
