TextBox.OnTextInputStart Method

[ This article is for Windows Phone 8 developers. If you’re developing for Windows 10, see the latest documentation. ]

Called before the TextInputStart event occurs.

Namespace:  System.Windows.Controls
Assembly:  System.Windows (in System.Windows.dll)

protected override void OnTextInputStart(
	TextCompositionEventArgs e
)

Parameters

e
Type: System.Windows.Input.TextCompositionEventArgs
Provides data about the event.

The OnTextInputStart method is called before any event handler for the TextInputStart event is called. This method allows derived classes to handle the TextInputStart event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding the OnTextInputStart method in a derived class, be sure to call the base class’s OnTextInputStart method so that registered delegates receive the event.
