DataGrid.OnInitializingNewItem Method (InitializingNewItemEventArgs)

.NET Framework 4.6 and 4.5

Raises the InitializingNewItem event.

Namespace:   System.Windows.Controls
Assembly:  PresentationFramework (in PresentationFramework.dll)

protected virtual void OnInitializingNewItem(
	InitializingNewItemEventArgs e

Type: System.Windows.Controls.InitializingNewItemEventArgs

The data for the event.

This method enables derived classes to initialize the item with custom default values.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see NIB: Raising an Event.

The OnInitializingNewItem method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors:

When overriding OnInitializingNewItem in a derived class, be sure to call the base class’s OnInitializingNewItem method so that registered delegates receive the event.
