Control Class
Assembly: PresentationFramework (in presentationframework.dll)
XML Namespace: http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation
When elements inherit from a base class, the properties of one of its derived classes can frequently have default values that are different from the same properties on the base class. Sometimes the property value of the derived class overrides the default value of an inherited property. This is possible because the derived class overrides the default value as part of dependency property metadata (for more information, see Dependency Properties Overview). The following table illustrates this point for the UIElement base class and the Control subclass.
| Property | BaseClass | Default | SubClass | Default |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Focusable | UIElement | false | Control | true |
