WebPartVerb.Text Property

Gets or sets the text label for a verb that is displayed in the user interface (UI).

Namespace:   System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts
Assembly:  System.Web (in System.Web.dll)

public virtual string Text { get; set; }

Property Value

Type: System.String

A string containing the text label for a verb. The default is an empty string ("").

This property sets the text of the label for a WebPartVerb object; it is what represents the verb to users in the UI.

If developers (optionally) assign a value to the ImageUrl property, an image or icon represents the verb in the UI, and in certain cases (such as when the verb is normally rendered by a button or hyperlink) the image appears instead of the text label.

The following code example shows how to override the Text property in a derived class inheriting from WebPartVerb. This source code shows only the portion of the code for the custom zone and the WebPartVerb class that overrides the property. The rest of the code required to run the example can be found in the Example section of the WebPartVerb class overview.

After you load the page in a browser, note that the value assigned to the Text property in the source code appears in the verbs menu of the WebPart control.
