TreeView.RaisePostBackEvent Method

Note: This method is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Enables the TreeView control to process an event that is raised when a form is posted to the server. The RaisePostBackEvent method is a helper method for the System.Web.UI.IPostBackEventHandler.RaisePostBackEvent method.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

protected:
virtual void RaisePostBackEvent (
	String^ eventArgument
)
protected void RaisePostBackEvent (
	String eventArgument
)
protected function RaisePostBackEvent (
	eventArgument : String
)

Parameters

eventArgument

A string that represents an optional event argument to pass to the event handler.

The page passes the value of the eventArgument parameter to the RaisePostBackEvent method of the control that implements the System.Web.UI.IPostBackEventHandler interface. This TreeView control also renders the HTML element that causes the postback event to occur. If the control renders client-side script to post back to the server, the argument from the script is passed in the eventArgument parameter. If the postback event is caused by a simple submit to the server, the eventArgument parameter is a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).

The RaisePostBackEvent method provides the functionality for many events that are implemented by HTML and Web server controls.
