Property Value

The name of the field to bind to the NavigateUrl property of a TreeNode object to which the TreeNodeBinding object is applied. The default is an empty string (""), which indicates that the NavigateUrlField property is not set.

When the TreeView control is bound to a data source, use the NavigateUrlField property to specify the field name to bind to the NavigateUrl property of a TreeNode object. This binding relationship affects all TreeNode objects to which the TreeNodeBinding object is applied. When the NavigateUrlField property is set, the TreeView control displays a hyperlink for the text of the node, instead of plain text. You can also optionally set the Target property to specify the window or frame in which to display the linked content.

NoteNote:

You can selectively override the NavigateUrlField property by setting the NavigateUrl property of each node directly.

Instead of using the NavigateUrlField property to bind the NavigateUrl property of a TreeNode object to a field, you can set the NavigateUrl property to a fixed value by setting the NavigateUrl property.

NoteNote:

If the data source contains multiple fields, you must first set the Depth or DataMember property, or both properties in order to bind to the appropriate field.

The value of this property is stored in view state.

This section contains two code examples. The first code example demonstrates how to use the NavigateUrlField property to specify which attribute of an XML element to bind to the NavigateUrl property of a TreeNode object to which the TreeNodeBinding object is applied. The second code example provides sample XML data for the first code example.

The following code example demonstrates how to use the NavigateUrlField property to specify which attribute of an XML element to bind to the NavigateUrl property of a TreeNode object to which the TreeNodeBinding object is applied. For this example to work correctly, you must copy the sample XML data, provided after this code example, to a file named Booklist.xml.

No code example is currently available or this language may not be supported.
