SqlDataSourceView::OnUpdated Method

Raises the Updated event after the SqlDataSource control has completed an update operation.

Namespace:  System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly:  System.Web (in System.Web.dll)

protected:
virtual void OnUpdated(
	SqlDataSourceStatusEventArgs^ e
)

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Consuming Events.

The OnUpdated method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding the OnUpdated method in a derived class, be sure to call the OnUpdated method for the base class so that registered delegates receive the event.

The following code example demonstrates how to display and update data retrieved from an ODBC database in a GridView control. After a record is successfully updated, the Updated event is handled by an event handler to perform a post-processing step where an e-mail message notification is sent.
