SqlDataSource.SelectCommandType Property

Note: This property is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Gets or sets a value indicating whether the text in the SelectCommand property is an SQL query or the name of a stored procedure.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

public:
property SqlDataSourceCommandType SelectCommandType {
	SqlDataSourceCommandType get ();
	void set (SqlDataSourceCommandType value);
}
/** @property */
public SqlDataSourceCommandType get_SelectCommandType ()

/** @property */
public void set_SelectCommandType (SqlDataSourceCommandType value)

public function get SelectCommandType () : SqlDataSourceCommandType

public function set SelectCommandType (value : SqlDataSourceCommandType)

Property Value

One of the SqlDataSourceCommandType values. The default is the Text value.

The SelectCommandType property delegates to the SelectCommandType property of the SqlDataSourceView object that is associated with the SqlDataSource control.

The following code example demonstrates how to set the SelectCommand text to the name of a stored procedure and the SelectCommandType property to the StoredProcedure value, in order to retrieve data from a Microsoft SQL Server database and display it in a DropDownList control.
