SiteMapPath.OnItemDataBound Method

Note: This method is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Raises the ItemDataBound event of the SiteMapPath control.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

protected:
virtual void OnItemDataBound (
	SiteMapNodeItemEventArgs^ e
)
protected void OnItemDataBound (
	SiteMapNodeItemEventArgs e
)
protected function OnItemDataBound (
	e : SiteMapNodeItemEventArgs
)

Parameters

e

A SiteMapNodeItemEventArgs that contains event data.

The ItemDataBound event is raised when the SiteMapPath control binds to the data provided by its SiteMapProvider. This allows you to provide an event-handling method that performs a custom routine, such as updating a database or the displayed content, whenever this event occurs.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.

The OnItemDataBound method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors When overriding the OnItemDataBound method in a derived class, be sure to call the OnItemDataBound method of the base class so that registered delegates receive the event.
