PasswordRecovery::OnVerifyingUser Method
Raises the VerifyingUser event.
Assembly: System.Web (in System.Web.dll)
Parameters
- e
- Type: System.Web.UI.WebControls::LoginCancelEventArgs
A CancelEventArgs that contains the event data.
The OnVerifyingUser method is called after the user submits a user name on the initial screen and before the user name is validated by the membership provider. The default implementation raises the VerifyingUser event.
Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Events and Delegates.
The OnVerifyingUser method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.
Notes to Inheritors:When overriding OnVerifyingUser in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnVerifyingUser method so that registered delegates receive the event.
The following code example creates a custom PasswordRecovery control that implements the OnVerifyingUser method. The custom class merely calls the base implementation of the OnVerifyingUser method.
