PasswordRecovery.OnVerifyingAnswer Method

Raises the VerifyingAnswer event.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

protected:
virtual void OnVerifyingAnswer (
	LoginCancelEventArgs^ e
)
protected void OnVerifyingAnswer (
	LoginCancelEventArgs e
)
protected function OnVerifyingAnswer (
	e : LoginCancelEventArgs
)
Not applicable.

Parameters

e

A CancelEventArgs that contains the event data.

The OnVerifyingAnswer method is called before the user's answer to the password recovery confirmation question is sent to the membership provider to be verified. The default implementation raises the VerifyingAnswer event.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Events and Delegates.

The OnVerifyingAnswer method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors: When overriding OnVerifyingAnswer in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnVerifyingAnswer method so that registered delegates receive the event.

The following code example creates a custom PasswordRecovery control that implements the OnVerifyingAnswer method. The custom class merely calls the base implementation of the OnVerifyingAnswer method.
