PasswordRecovery.OnUserLookupError Method

Raises the UserLookupError event.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

protected:
virtual void OnUserLookupError (
	EventArgs^ e
)
protected void OnUserLookupError (
	EventArgs e
)
protected function OnUserLookupError (
	e : EventArgs
)
Not applicable.

Parameters

e

An EventArgs that contains the event data.

The OnUserLookupError method is called when the membership provider is unable to find the user name entered on the initial screen. The default implementation raises the UserLookupError event.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.

The OnUserLookupError method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors: When overriding OnUserLookupError in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnUserLookupError method so that registered delegates receive the event.

The following code example defines a custom PasswordRecovery control that overrides the OnUserLookupError method to change the UserNameTitleText property if the user enters an incorrect answer to the password confirmation question.
