Saves the changes to the view state for the ObjectDataSourceView object since the time when the page was posted back to the server.
Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)
The object that contains the changes to the ObjectDataSourceView view state; otherwise a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic), if there is no view state associated with the object.
The SaveViewState method is primarily used by control developers.
View state is the accumulation of the values of a server control's properties. These values are automatically placed in the ViewState property for the server control, which is an instance of the StateBag class. The ViewState value is then persisted to a string object after the save-state stage of the server control life cycle.
When view state is saved, view state contents are returned to the client as a variable that is stored in an HTML Hidden element. When you author custom server controls, you can improve efficiency by overriding the SaveViewState method and modifying the ViewState property for your server control.
