MultiView.Render Method

Note: This method is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Writes the MultiView control content to the specified HtmlTextWriter object, for display on the client.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

protected public:
virtual void Render (
	HtmlTextWriter^ writer
) override
protected void Render (
	HtmlTextWriter writer
)
protected internal override function Render (
	writer : HtmlTextWriter
)

Parameters

writer

An HtmlTextWriter that represents the output stream to render HTML content on the client.

The Render method is used primarily by control developers when deriving a custom class from the MultiView control.

The Render method writes the rendered content of the active view to the client using the supplied HtmlTextWriter. You can set the active view in a MultiView control using the SetActiveView method or the ActiveViewIndex property. You can determine which one of the View controls in the Views collection is the active view, if any, by using the GetActiveView method or the ActiveViewIndex property.

If an active view is set for the MultiView control, the active View control is used to render content for that view and its child controls. If an active view is not set for the MultiView control, no content is rendered to the HtmlTextWriter.
