ListItem::Value Property

Gets or sets the value associated with the ListItem.

Namespace:  System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly:  System.Web (in System.Web.dll)

public:
property String^ Value {
	String^ get ();
	void set (String^ value);
}

Property Value

Type: System::String
The value associated with the ListItem. The default is String::Empty.

Use the Value property to specify or determine the value associated with the ListItem.

NoteNote

If the Value property contains nullptr, the get accessor returns the value of the Text property. If the Text property, in turn, contains nullptr, String::Empty is returned.

The value of this property, when set, can be saved automatically to a resource file by using a designer tool. For more information, see LocalizableAttribute and ASP.NET Globalization and Localization.

NoteNote

The following code sample uses the single-file code model and may not work correctly if copied directly into a code-behind file. This code sample must be copied into an empty text file that has an .aspx extension. For more information on the Web Forms code model, see ASP.NET Web Page Code Model.

No code example is currently available or this language may not be supported.
