LinqDataSourceView::CanRetrieveTotalRowCount Property

Gets a value that indicates whether the LinqDataSourceView object that is associated with the current LinqDataSource control supports retrieving the total number of data rows, in addition to retrieving the data.

Namespace:  System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly:  System.Web.Extensions (in System.Web.Extensions.dll)

public:
virtual property bool CanRetrieveTotalRowCount {
	bool get () override;
}

Property Value

Type: System::Boolean
true.

Data-bound controls use the total number of rows that can be paged to determine how to render paging controls. For example, this value is used to determine how many numeric pager buttons to render in a GridView control pager. If the AutoPage() property is set to false, you must manually set the total row count in the Selecting event.
