HierarchicalDataBoundControl.ValidateDataSource Method

Note: This method is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Verifies that the object a data-bound control binds to is one it can work with.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

protected override void ValidateDataSource (
	Object dataSource
)
protected void ValidateDataSource (
	Object dataSource
)
protected override function ValidateDataSource (
	dataSource : Object
)

Parameters

dataSource

An object set to the DataSource property.

The ValidateDataSource method is called only in the BaseDataBoundControl class's mutator (setter) for the DataSource property. The HierarchicalDataBoundControl class checks the type of the object that is set for the DataSource property to ensure that it is an instance of the IHierarchicalEnumerable or IHierarchicalDataSource interfaces.
