GridView.RowUpdated Event

Occurs when a row's Update button is clicked, but after the GridView control updates the row.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

public:
event GridViewUpdatedEventHandler^ RowUpdated {
	void add (GridViewUpdatedEventHandler^ value);
	void remove (GridViewUpdatedEventHandler^ value);
}
/** @event */
public void add_RowUpdated (GridViewUpdatedEventHandler value)

/** @event */
public void remove_RowUpdated (GridViewUpdatedEventHandler value)

In JScript, you can handle the events defined by a class, but you cannot define your own.
Not applicable.

The RowUpdated event is raised when a row's Update button is clicked, but after the GridView control updates the row. This allows you to provide an event-handling method that performs a custom routine, such as checking the results of the update operation, whenever this event occurs.

A GridViewUpdatedEventArgs object is passed to the event-handling method, which allows you to determine the number of rows affected and any exceptions that might have occurred. You can also indicate whether the exception was handled in the event-handling method by setting the ExceptionHandled property of the GridViewUpdatedEventArgs object.

For more information about handling events, see Consuming Events.

The following code example demonstrates how to use the RowUpdated event to check the result of the update operation. A message is displayed to indicate to the user whether the operation succeeded.
