FormViewModeEventArgs::CancelingEdit Property

Gets a value indicating whether the ModeChanging event was raised as a result of the user canceling an edit operation.

Namespace:   System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly:  System.Web (in System.Web.dll)

public:
property bool CancelingEdit {
	bool get();
}

Property Value

Type: System::Boolean

true to indicate the ModeChanging event was raised as a result of the user canceling an edit operation; otherwise, false.

The ModeChanging event is raised when a FormView control attempts to switch between edit, insert, and read-only mode, but before the mode actually changes. Use the CancelingEdit property to determine whether the ModeChanging event was raised as a result of the user canceling an edit or insert operation. For example, you might want to reset the FormView control whenever the user cancels an edit operation.

The following example demonstrates how to use the CancelingEdit property to determine whether a mode change is the result of the user canceling an edit operation.
