EntityDataSource.GetView Method

Gets the named data source view that is associated with the data source control.

Namespace:  System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly:  System.Web.Entity (in System.Web.Entity.dll)

abstract GetView :
        viewName:string -> DataSourceView
override GetView :
        viewName:string -> DataSourceView

Type: System.String
The name of the view to retrieve. Because the EntityDataSource control supports only one view, viewName is ignored.

Return Value

Type: System.Web.UI.DataSourceView
The EntityDataSourceView that is associated with the EntityDataSource control.

The EntityDataSource control supports only one data source view. Like all data source view objects, the EntityDataSourceView object that is associated with the data source control defines its capabilities, performs all work that is necessary to retrieve data from the underlying database, and performs operations, such as sorting, inserting, deleting, and updating.
