DetailsViewUpdatedEventHandler Delegate

Note: This delegate is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Represents the method that handles the ItemUpdated event of a DetailsView control. This class cannot be inherited.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

public delegate void DetailsViewUpdatedEventHandler (
	Object^ sender,
	DetailsViewUpdatedEventArgs^ e
)
/** @delegate */
public delegate void DetailsViewUpdatedEventHandler (
	Object sender,
	DetailsViewUpdatedEventArgs e
)
JScript supports the use of delegates, but not the declaration of new ones.

Parameters

sender

The source of the event.

e

A DetailsViewUpdatedEventArgs that contains the event data.

The DetailsView control raises the ItemUpdated event when an Update button (a button with its CommandName property set to "Update") within the control is clicked, but after the DetailsView control updates the record. This allows you to provide an event handler that performs a custom routine, such as checking the results of an update operation, whenever this event occurs.

When you create a DetailsViewUpdatedEventHandler delegate, you identify the method that will handle the event. To associate the event with your event handler, add an instance of the delegate to the event. The event handler is called whenever the event occurs, unless you remove the delegate. For more information about event-handler delegates, see Events and Delegates.
