DetailsViewModeEventArgs.CancelingEdit Property

Namespace:   System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly:  System.Web (in System.Web.dll)

Public ReadOnly Property CancelingEdit As Boolean

Property Value

Type: System.Boolean

true to indicate the ModeChanging event was raised as a result of the user canceling an edit operation; otherwise, false.

The ModeChanging event is raised when a DetailsView control attempts to change between edit, insert, and read-only mode, but before the mode actually changes. Use the CancelingEdit property to determine whether the ModeChanging event was raised as a result of the user canceling an edit operation. For example, you might want to reset the DetailsView control whenever the user cancels an edit operation.

The following code example demonstrates how to use the CancelingEdit property to determine whether a mode change is the result of the user canceling an edit operation.
