DetailsView.PageIndexChanged Event

Occurs when the value of the PageIndex property changes after a paging operation.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

public event EventHandler PageIndexChanged
/** @event */
public void add_PageIndexChanged (EventHandler value)

/** @event */
public void remove_PageIndexChanged (EventHandler value)

In JScript, you can handle the events defined by a class, but you cannot define your own.
Not applicable.

The DetailsView control raises the PageIndexChanged event when a pager button (a button with its CommandName property set to "Page") within the control is clicked, but after the DetailsView control handles the paging operation. This allows you to provide an event handler that performs a custom routine whenever this event occurs.

NoteNote:

This event is not raised when you programmatically set the PageIndex property.

Pager buttons are usually located in the pager row of a DetailsView control. This event is often used to synchronize a DetailsView control with a GridView control or to set the behavior of the DetailsView control after a paging operation.

For more information about handling events, see Consuming Events.

The following code example demonstrates how to use the PageIndexChanged event to return the DetailsView to read-only mode when the user navigates to another record.

    // By default, if the DetailsView control is in edit mode and
    // user navigates to another page, the DetailsView control
    // remains in edit mode. In this example, the ChangeMode
    // method is used to put the DetailsView control in read-only
    // mode whenever the user navigates to another record.
      CustomerDetailView.ChangeMode(DetailsViewMode.ReadOnly);
  }
